SRC Products Ltd became part of the Recyclatech Group in January 2014, bringing into line the complete service of reclaiming, recycling and reengineering rubber products.
Working closely with suppliers and customers SRC Products & Recyclatech are able to provide and utlise the latest breakthroughs in rubber recycling technologies.
Recyclatech Group Ltd has developed a unique patented devulcanisation (sulphur removal) technology which enables the reprocessing of waste rubber tyres into reusable rubber, economically, profitably and without any environmental impact. The resulting processed rubber can be used in products that currently require new rubber to be used, at significant savings when compared to the cost of new material.
Rubber crumb is a commodity that is used in a range of low value products but with a potential to be incorporated into the formation of high value products such as automotive tyres. The incorporation of crumbed rubber from waste car tyres at levels of more than a few percent affects the mechanical properties including elongation at break and tensile strength. This is because when one attempts to revulcanise the crumbed rubber with virgin rubber the number of available sulphur cross-linking sites is very low and only a few new S-bonds are formed.
Recyclatech's Technology increases the available cross-linking sites following microbial devulcanisation (desulphurisation) afforded by its patented bacteria allowing significantly more cross-linking of crumb with virgin rubber. For this to occur at optimum rates we source quality crumb of appropriate size provided by our collaboration with rubber granulate producers.
